Product Overview
The Fuse Holder is a device that provides housing for a fuse (0.25 x 1.25). A fuse is a replaceable circuit protection device that provides protection to both the equipment and the equipment operator in the event of a circuit overload. In simplest terms, it is two metal caps with a wire or strip in-between. This is enclosed in a glass or ceramic tube and may be filled with sand for some specialized fuse types. A fuse holder is mounted in the electronic equipment and it is designed to hold the fuse. Fuse holders can hold a variety of fuses, which depends on the type of fuse carrier being used. From an application point of view, a fuse-holder is characterized by its rated values for voltage, current, and accepted power. Considerable differences exist between the IEC and the UL standards regarding the rated current of a fuse-holder.
