Product Overview
The Pan Head Screw 0.5" Length #10 is a screw is made from high grade alloy stainless steel. The screw is manufactured using high precision techniques which helps to achieve a good surface finish as well as good product consistency. The high dimensional stability of the screw ensures its precise fit in the required assembly. The steel material used for the screw has good mechanical properties like tensile strength, hardness and wear resistance which ensures a long-life span for the product. It possesses a high strength to weight ratio. The Screw is also passivated to enhance its corrosion resistance. The passivation is the procedure in which the presence of metallic (free) iron is removed from the surface of the part. The presence of free iron particles on the surface of stainless steel can cause the product to show rust spots. The passivation process involves lowering the stainless steel fastener into a solution of nitric acid, sodium bicarbonate and water or 35% nitric by volume and water for some period of time. The nitric acid dissolves the embedded or smeared iron and restores the original corrosion-resistant surface of the part.
