Product Overview

The Flow Sensor Breathing Circuit Gas (BCG) is a variable orifice bi-directional flow sensor used for measuring airflow rates of patient. Variable orifice technology employed in flow sensor helps to measure airflow rate of wide range and hence suitable for both pediatric and adult patients. Equipped with electro-pneumatic interface for external connection, the device is compatible with Aespire, Aestive, and Avance Anesthesia systems, among others. The sensor is calibrated and carries its calibration data in an Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory (EEPROM) for upload to the target ventilator system. Variable orifice bi-directional flow sensor uses a variable orifice in the gas flow passage to create a pressure drop that can be sensed by a differential pressure transducer. Each output signal from the pressure transducer consistently represents a unique gas flow rate and is calibrated to accurately report the measurement in gas flow rate. The data from the pressure transducer is calibrated and stored in an internal memory storage equipped with a two wire interface for communicating externally. The variable orifice technology straightens the airflow-pressure characteristic to provide linear and uniform measurement sensitivity throughout its measured range.
